2009 has been a wild year for tennis fans, with twist after twist in both the men and women’s games. Roger Federer looked lost this time last year after a defeat at the hands of Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon, but just twelve short months later, he’s back at the top of his game. Adding to the drama is Andy Roddick’s resurgence, giving Americans across the land hope that one of our own can finally take back the trophy. So how are you going to keep track of all of this hot tennis action? The best coverage is delivered by the US Open Experience from DIRECTV.
The first thing you need to know is that the US Open Experience is broadcast in 1080p high definition-you’ll see every little fuzz on the ball as it arcs upward to meet Roddick’s cannon serve. At that resolution, you won’t miss a single drop from Rafa’s headband (and we know how important that is to the ladies watching).
With the US Open Mix Channel, you can watch six live matches on a single screen, zooming into whichever game holds your attention. This is especially important in the early stages, when contests are spread across several stadiums as the initial huge batch of players is whittled down to a select few.
And to keep track of future action, just hit the red button on your remote, which will bring up future draws in both the men and women’s divisions. You’ll also be able to see who each player has taken on before.
The US Open is a great way to end the summer for tennis fans. With DIRECTV, you can be sure that you won’t miss a single volley.

Football season is upon us, folks, and that means just one thing. If you’re planning on keeping track of your favorite team (along with all of the other action across the league), you need to order the DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket. There is no better way to enjoy all of the excitement that comes with the territory: hard hits, gravity-defying end zone catches, and, of course, Terrell Owens‘ legendary touchdown celebrations.
DirecTV streams up to 14 out of market games into your living each week as part of the NFL Sunday Ticket package. For fans living away from their team, that’s pretty much a necessity. Why head out to the bar to squint at a screen thirty feet away when you can enjoy your team from your own living room?
Let’s use a Buffalo Bills fan as an example. His company’s recently relocated him to Phoenix. While he’s loving the improvement in weather, his beloved Bills are nowhere to be seen on cable. Direct TV satellite TV and the NFL Sunday Ticket come to the rescue. This fan can now enjoy his favorite team week in and week out.
DirecTV also brings other features to the table, including Player Tracker (a sure hit for Fantasy Football fans), the NFL Network, and all of the pregame coaches’ shows from across the league. You just won’t find any of these extras on cable.
But you’ll have to act quick. Special deals on the NFL Sunday Ticket are available right now, but as the preseason approaches, they’re likely to increase. With all of this great action available, why wait? Talk to a representative today to find out how DirecTV can change the way you watch football.

If you’re looking for an escape from the summer heat, search no further: just head inside, turn up the air conditioning, and flip on your HDTV. With satellite television from Direct TV, you’ll have access to a range of programming that will perfectly fit your mood. With hundreds of channels and thousands of shows, there won’t be a moment of boredom. Here are some of our picks for the best of summer, 2009.
Entourage: Featured each Sunday night on HBO, Entourage is an inside look at the way Hollywood works, as portrayed by a gang of four high school buddies. Loosely based on Mark(y Mark) Wahlberg’s early years as a rising star, great scriptwriting and even better directing make this show a favorite.
Desperate Housewives: Every suburban woman can associate with the stars of this show. Set on Wisteria Lane in the fictional town of Wisteria, constant drama is a neighborhood fixture. A star cast includes Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, and Felicity Huffman. Beware: you won’t be able to stop at one. Set aside a couple of hours and check out reruns on Direct TV On Demand.
Mad Men: After a long break, one of television’s most critically acclaimed show is back on for your enjoyment. Mad Men, a depiction of wild Madison Avenue in the 1960s, is a completely unique hour of television. Flying in the face of conventional wisdom, this new take on an old school topic has garnered a wide following as it segues into season 3.
24: No two numbers on television elicit such a reaction from fans. Jack Bauer (played by Keifer Sutherland) is the hottest actor on satellite TV, and he’s back for a new season of fast paced insanity. There’s a new movie in the works as well.
These shows are all available on satellite television. Many can be ordered for free from On Demand, so if you have a busy schedule, you can watch TV on your time. Enjoy all of the programming that’s made Direct TV satellite television the number one television provider in America.

If you were following America’s Greatest Pastime early this season, you’ve likely witnessed an intense season. First, the hype of Yankees Stadium couldn’t keep folks in the seats, however, and George Steinbrenner and Co. were forced to slash ticket prices to avoid unseemly holes in the audience for folks watching at home on satellite TV.
The end of the season is shaping up to provide new memories to help us forget the old ones. In the AL East, Boston and New York have renewed their epic rivalry, and August and September seem sure to thrill. Only a couple of games separate these two powerhouses, and the magic looks like it’s going to start flying anytime now.
In the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers look like they could run away with the pennant. They’ve been pretty much unstoppable all season long, and appear to be gaining steam as we head into the home stretch.
There’s one constant in baseball amidst all of this uncertainty: if you’re looking to catch all the action at the end of the season, there’s no better avenue than the MLB EXTRA INNINGS package on DIRECTV. This programming is a serious baseball fan’s ultimate dream. It has everything you need to keep up with all the players, teams, and games in both the American and National Leagues.
Innovative features come together to give you the full range of features. However you look at it, DIRECTV’s MLB EXTRA INNINGS package is the most solid way to end this regular season.

Soon it will be time for the American version of football, NFL! In fact, this year is going to be bigger than ever for the NFL because the DIRECTV NFL SUNDAY TICKET is now offering full games on your iPhone. You will be able to watch up to 14 games every Sunday. Now, that of course is impossible to do but you will have a choice from that many games. You can choose from any number of cities and teams that are playing throughout the day.
At home, on your regular dish, you can enjoy being able to get the real-time scores and in-depth stats at the press of a button. I personally constantly tweet and twitter as the games are being played. I have different twitter buddies all over the world that I’m members of various team fan clubs with. And we’ll either watch games “together” as I view my satellite TV, or they’ll simply tweet with me about games they’re watching, while I watch different games on DIRECTV SUNDAY NFL TICKET. I record games on my DVR and watch them if there are two or three games playing at the same time that I want to see. I can always watch them later!
